Cookiecad V7

Texture roller maker, multi-imprint cutters, press handles, broader image upload support, improved Delete Outer Edge results, flexible roller sizing and orientation, cleaner viewport controls, and reliability improvements across the Designer.

Texture Roller Maker

  • Turn an uploaded design into a cylindrical texture roller.
  • Create raised or engraved patterns with repeat, brick, or mirrored layouts, and control how many times the design repeats along and around the roller.
  • Set the source by its longest edge or exact width and height, optionally lock its aspect ratio, and rotate it 90 degrees to change how it wraps around the roller.
  • Create continuous patterns across the roller seam, including details that cross the wrap boundary.
  • Generate texture rollers faster, especially with repeated layouts and complex curved patterns.
  • Adjust blank padding, pattern inversion, end rims, axle-hole diameter, and depth-curve behavior.
  • Use an independent Back thickness setting, which defaults to 0 mm so patterns sit directly on the roller unless backing is added.

Stamp Outer Edge Depth Curves

  • Optionally extend hole-facing depth curves around a stamp's outside edge for a smoother outer profile.

Improved Delete Outer Edge

  • The new Preserve outline method removes the outer design edge while retaining the original overall silhouette and more of the interior detail.
  • Preserve outline is now the default for Imprint, Stamp, and Cutter + Stamp designs.
  • The original Offset inward method remains available from Experimental settings for designs where the legacy result works better.

More Ways to Add Images

  • Upload WebP and SVG images; Cookiecad prepares them for tracing automatically.
  • Paste an image from your clipboard into the Designer with Ctrl/Cmd+V.
  • Unsupported formats and failed traces now show clear errors and can be retried without reloading.

Mirrored Pair

  • New Mirrored Pair option generates both orientations of a design together in one print-ready model.

Multi-Imprint Cutters

  • Turn an Imprint or Solid design into a configurable grid of matching cutters.
  • Set the number of rows and columns and adjust their spacing to create multiple impressions at once with one print-ready tool.

Press Handles

  • Add a press handle to each end of a cutter or multi-cutter layout for easier, more even pressure.
  • Choose round, rectangular, or rounded rectangular handles and adjust their dimensions, position, rotation, and overlap with the cutter.
  • Press handles automatically attach where their positioning line crosses the cutter and match the cutter handle's thickness and edge profile.

Other Improvements

  • Added an Experimental setting to hide viewport size labels and measurement guide lines for cleaner screenshots.
  • 2D previews repaint immediately when they are drawn, even if the viewport is idle.
  • Stamp-only designs now use the full requested size instead of subtracting Cutter + Stamp clearance. Clearance still applies to Cutter + Stamp sets.
  • Stamp backs now default to 5.5 mm, leaving a solid layer above threaded grip sockets while preserving full thread engagement.
  • Viewport measurement and edge-highlight settings now apply reliably during startup.
  • A new searchable Cookiecad documentation portal makes guides easier to find and browse.
  • Cookiecad has refreshed branding throughout the app and documentation.
  • Name plates stay attached more reliably when moved along irregular cutter outlines, and multi-cutters now use one shared name plate by default.
  • Dimension fields now accept decimal values consistently for more precise sizing.

Reliability Improvements

  • Cutter blade profiles avoid problematic slicer width boundaries that can cause rough top edges in PrusaSlicer.
  • Depth curves preserve nested details more reliably on stamps and texture rollers.
  • Edited designs can be reopened even after an older temporary SVG link has expired.
  • My Library loads larger collections and design previews more reliably.

Sharper, Faster Cutter Blades

  • Around 10x faster cutter generation.
  • New mesh generation algorithm allows for more complicated cutters like rounded blades and more.
  • New Fondant blade option adds an inward taper to the cutting blade for cleaner petal and detail separation, and helps sticky materials eject from the cutter more easily.

New Depth Curve Options

  • Added Round, Chamfer and more depth curve options.
  • Choose whether depth curves apply to holes, filled regions, or both.

Rounded Blade Tip

  • New optional rounded top edge for cutter profiles.

Symmetric Handle and Blade

  • New Symmetric handle mirrors the base profile to the inside for a symmetric cutter.
  • New Symmetric blade centers the blade on the traced path so the cut line lands exactly on the design contour.

Center Bar Rework

  • Place multiple center bars and rotate them freely.

Better Imprints and Stamps

  • Depth curves now apply to holes inside imprints and stamps.
  • Text can now be added to stamp sides, including matching text on Cutter + Stamp sets.

Stamp Grips

  • Generate a separate threaded grip for stamps and Cutter + Stamp sets.
  • Cookiecad adds the matching threaded socket to the stamp back automatically.
  • Choose a threaded connection or a glue chamfer connection.
  • Adjust the grip position, socket depth, fit clearance, diameter, grip size and grip bottom rounding.
  • Threaded grips screw directly into the stamp for a secure fit.

Name Plates

  • Add a raised-text name plate to the outside of a cutter or stamp.
  • Choose a rectangular backing or an offset backing that follows the text outline.
  • Customize the plate text, font, size, padding, thickness, overlap, text height and position.
  • For Cutter + Stamp sets, choose whether the name plate appears on the cutter, the stamp, or both.

Cake Topper Image Support

  • Generate cake toppers from uploaded images with raised image reliefs.
  • Add printable backing around the image relief so thin details stay connected.
  • Adjust image relief height, backing offset, base height, depth curve, text/name plate settings, and pin position.
  • Use text-only, image-only, or combined image and message cake topper designs.

Sandwich Cutter Maker

  • New cutter type for cutting sandwiches, that automatically perforates the bread slices with dents for attachment.

Stencil Maker Improvements

  • Stencil generation is now much more robust for dense repeated patterns.
  • Large rectangular and diagonal stencil grids generate faster by reusing repeated mesh regions.
  • Optional loose interior features and center bars let you keep details like eyes, noses, and other floating cutouts connected to the stencil sheet.

Cake Pop Mold Maker

  • New cutter type for creating cake pop molds with a matching plunger.
  • Generate a filled mold cup with an aligned plunger hole, plus the plunger parts packed beside it for printing.
  • Choose a single-piece plunger or a two-piece plunger that reuses Cookiecad's threaded stamp grip system.
  • Use an outline-only plunger face for simple molds, or an imprint face for decorated cake pop details.
  • Add an optional support tray that holds cut dough upside down while you insert a cake pop stick.
  • Adjust the back plate thickness, plunger clearance, and hole clearance to fit your dough and printer.

Better Designer Navigation

  • Browser Back and Forward now reliably restore the correct Designer screen and design.
  • Opened and shared designs show their settings and preview state immediately, without outdated previews reappearing after you navigate away.

Improved My Library

  • Add designs to your library with a single button click.
  • Quickly access and organize your favorite designs.
  • See assigned tags directly on design cards and in design details, with compact overflow counts when a design has many tags.

Improved Auto Outline

  • Multiple traced image shapes are now shown in the UI.
  • Outline All now lets you adjust the outline margin before generating the cutter.
  • Circle outlines now fit more tightly around the detected shapes.

Miscellaneous Improvements

  • PDF download: get your cutter outline as a printable PDF.
  • 3MF download: export your finished model in a compact slicer-friendly format.
  • Auto zoom to fit: see all parts of your cutter on first load.
  • Practice Cookie wall text now appears on the vertical wall and is oriented correctly for printing.
  • The 3D viewport can now orbit past top and bottom views, making upside-down parts easier to inspect.
  • Share now creates short links for logged-in users, while full settings URLs remain available for anyone.
  • Settings are now grouped into accordion sections, making advanced options easier to scan and hide when not needed.
  • Search settings by name to quickly find matching controls across expanded settings sections.
  • Long settings panels now keep controls visible more reliably while scrolling.
  • Faster startup via dynamic three.js loading, with WebGL1 fallback.
  • Energy-friendly on-demand viewport rendering.
  • Imprint base width is now user-configurable and defaults to 1.5mm.
  • New Use inner edges only option lets outline and edges-only cutters target interior contours, useful for creating cutters from holes in traced designs.
