Blade Settings

Blade settings appear for cutter types that include a cutting wall. Some controls are hidden for Stamp and Practice Cookie.

Depth and thickness

Depth is the usable cutting-wall height. Thickness is the wall width. The defaults are 12.5 mm deep and 0.8 mm thick.

For Cake Pop Mold, the preview also shows the generated blade depth. Cookiecad may add height so the plunger back and face fit while preserving the requested usable mold depth.

Extra blade adds a second section above the regular blade. Set its additional depth and thickness. It is useful when the cutting edge should stay thin but the upper wall needs more height or strength.

The default extra depth is 10 mm; the feature is off by default because extra thickness is 0 mm.

Sharp tip

Sharp adds a chamfered tip. Tip width sets the flat width at the cutting edge, and Chamfer height sets the height of the taper. Defaults are 0.4 mm and 2 mm.

Offset inward

Cookiecad normally offsets the blade outward so the cut shape matches the uploaded design. Offset inward moves the blade to the other side of the traced path. This is a Premium setting.

Rounded edge

Rounded edge rounds the top of the blade instead of leaving a flat tip. It can be useful for clay cutters; leave it off for the crispest cutting edge. This is a Premium setting.

Symmetric blade

Symmetric centers the blade on the traced path and chamfers it equally on both sides. When off, the inside is flush with the path and the blade sits on the outside. This is a Premium setting.

Fondant blade

Fondant blade applies an inward taper across the full cutting-wall height. Taper width controls the amount; the default is 1.5 mm. It cannot be combined with Symmetric blade and requires Premium.

Use inner edges only

Use inner edges only builds cutters from supported interior boundaries instead of the design's outer boundary. It is available for Cutter and some Imprint Cutter designs, and requires both compatible traced paths and Premium.
