Texture Roller Settings

Configure a roller's source layout, relief, end rims, and axle hole.

These controls appear only for the Texture Roller type. Texture Rollers require Cookiecad Premium.

Source size

Source Size scales one copy of the uploaded image, not the finished roller. Use Longest Side for proportional scaling or Width and Height for exact source dimensions. The aspect lock preserves the image proportions while you edit either dimension.

The finished roller grows with the repeat counts, blank border, and end rims.

Blank border

Padding adds blank space around each source copy. It separates neighboring copies and adds space at the pattern boundaries. The default is 0 mm.

Rotate 90 degrees

Rotate 90 degrees swaps which source direction runs along the roller and which wraps around its circumference. Rotation happens before the repeats are laid out.

Pattern

  • Repeat keeps every copy in the original orientation.
  • Brick offsets alternating around-roller rows by half a source width.
  • Mirror flips alternating copies along both layout directions.

For Brick and Mirror, an odd Around roller value greater than one is increased to the next even number so the pattern closes across the seam.

Repeats

Along length controls how many copies run from one end of the roller to the other. Around roller controls how many copies wrap around its circumference. Both default to 1 and accept values from 1 through 32.

Pattern relief

Raised adds the traced pattern above the roller surface. Engraved cuts the pattern into the surface.

Imprint depth and depth curve

The Stamp section supplies the roller's Imprint depth and optional Depth curve. Imprint depth defaults to 3 mm. A non-flat curve can target holes, filled regions, or both.

When a curve is active, Curve Base offers:

  • Include imprint height adds the configured imprint depth before applying the curved profile.
  • Curve only uses the curve without the flat imprint-height layer.

Invert pattern

Invert pattern swaps the traced regions used by the roller. The Stamp section's separate Invert control is disabled for Texture Rollers; use this switch instead.

Delete outer edge

The Stamp section can remove a supported outside traced boundary from the roller pattern. Availability depends on the design's nested path structure. Texture Rollers do not show the separate method selector used by Imprint Cutter, Stamp, and Cutter + Stamp.

End rims

End rims add raised bands at both ends of the cylinder. They are on by default. Width controls how far each band extends along the roller axis; Height controls how far it rises from the roller surface. Defaults are 2 mm wide and 0.8 mm high.

Axle hole

Axle Hole sets the diameter of the opening through the roller. The default is 8 mm. Set it to 0 for a solid center. If the requested hole is too large for the current roller diameter, Cookiecad limits it to preserve at least 0.8 mm of outer wall.
